6th Gen 4Runner: A/C not cold, infotainment glitches, or random electrical warnings

Checks, in order

  1. Restart the system
Shut off the truck, open and close the driver door, and restart. Some infotainment and camera faults clear this way, but note if they return.
    easy $ · under about $50
  2. Phone and cable
Try a different cable and forget and re-pair the phone. Many connection issues come from a bad cable.
    easy $ · under about $50
  3. Check for software updates
See if Toyota offers an over-the-air or dealer update for the head unit and ask the dealer at your next visit.
    easy $ · under about $50
  4. A/C basics
Replace a dirty cabin filter and check that the compressor engages when A/C is on. If the air is warm, the system may be low on refrigerant, which on a new truck suggests a leak.
    easy $ · under about $50
  5. Dealer diagnosis
Any persistent electrical or A/C fault should be documented and repaired under warranty.
    hard $$$ · shop-level job, $500+

Applies to: 6th generation 4Runner, 2025 and newer, with the 2.4L turbocharged i-FORCE and the i-FORCE MAX hybrid, both with the 8-speed automatic. This is a new platform with little long-term history, so most entries are general symptoms; when the truck is under warranty, the dealer is the right first stop.
